Feb. 11-18Wintercount , AZ. There will be an ISAC everyday starting at 8:00 am. That is eight ISAC's in a row. A Field Round will be held on Wednesday the 15th for Atlatl and Archery, and a Distance throw for Atlatl on Thursday the 16th. You do not need to be enrolled in Wintercount to participate in the Atlatl and Archery Events. There is dry camping available. 26th Annual Valley of Fire Atlatl Event , Nevada  Saturday, March 25th 2017 -  10:00AM
 
  Come out to Valley of Fire State Park on Saturday, March 25th, for the 26th Annual World Atlatl Association Competition! The event attracts participants from all across the country. Registration for the competition will begin at 9am. Plaques will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the women’s, men’s, and children’s divisions. There will also be some atlatls available for those who do not own at atlatl, but still wish to participate in the competition.
  Early arrivals Wednesday, March 22, free camping at group use sites through the night of Sunday, March 26th. Final goodbyes on Monday, March 27th. ISACS held each day, Moche Toss TBD (still determining time & location last year this was held directly after the main even on Saturday), Persistence Hunter's Challenge TBD (usually held Sunday morning if there are enough participants).  The main event will take place at the Atlatl Rock picnic area at 10AM Saturday March 25th. It's a great time for tent camping in the dessert. Even if you don't want to camp or compete… you should still come out on Saturday and throw with us for the day!
  This event is free of cost; however, there is an entrance fee into the park of $10 per vehicle. Nevada residents receive a $2 discount. Waived for WAA members.
  Valley of Fire State Park is approximately 55 miles northeast of Las Vegas via Interstate 15, Exit 75, and 20 miles southwest of Moapa Valley via Highway 169, Valley of Fire Road.

30th Annual Meeting of the World Atlatl Association

This year's meeting and throw will be held in Husum, WA, at the home of Bob and Gayle Kitch (45 Fordyce Rd. -about 65 miles east of Portland, OR). Located in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, there are numerous museums and points of interest, so you may want to come early and/or stay late.

Schedule of Events:

Thursday - Registration opens at 10:00 am. Range will be open all day for ISACs and qualifying US Open Championship contests.

Friday - US Open Championship qualifying contests. Field round of 20 3-D targets (40 throws) at the Celilo Bowmen Archery Range at the Dalles, Oregon, about 25 miles from Husum. Field points are required for the 3-D targets. ISACSs will also be available at this site.  WAA Executive Board Meeting in the evening.

Saturday - ISACs all day. Final throws for the US Open Championship qualifiers  until early afternoon. US Open Championship finals during the afternoon. Dinner will be served at 5:00 pm to those who confirm reservations by phone to Bob or Gayle (see numbers below). WAA Annual Meeting following dinner, with presentation of awards and a guest speaker.

Sunday - ISACs until 3:00 pm.

There are RV parks, motels, and bed and breakfasts available (Husum, White Salmon, and Bingen in WA, and Hood River in OR). Book early as we're a very busy tourist area.
